Advancing the Field of Alternative Response 2025 Convening

Join the Policing Project at NYU Law, Georgetown Law Center for Innovations in Community Safety, and Alternative Mobile Services Association (AMSA), as we continue to build a community of practice to address critical issues in the growing field of alternative first response.

Advancing the Field of Alternative Response Convening  will include plenary sessions and smaller break-out sessions serving both municipal leaders, researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders who want to collaborate on addressing pressing and complex topics. The event will include facilitated policy discussions, issue-specific workshops, and opportunities for sharing promising new practices among policymakers and practitioners. Topics will include those such as the following: workforce development, sustainable funding, narrative change, dispatch practices, community engagement, evaluation, responses to mediation, disability justice, and more.
